In the mid fifties, Lancia was having difficulty staying afloat, in danger of going out of business, but they had already designed and built these magnificent race cars. So Ferrari bought the lot of them for their efforts in Gran Prix (F1) Racing, and the car was successful for them. I had been admiring these cars ever since the fifties, but had never seen one close up until March of ‘25 at the Amelia Concours.
